On Sunday the 5th of October, AFL Europe held a Level 1 Coaching Course run by Daniel Archer.

After the AGM on the Friday and the Axios Euro Cup – biggest Australian Football European tournament in history – on the Saturday, the AFL Europe weekend ended with a quality coaching course for the community. Attendees included representatives from Croatia, Spain, Wales, England, Austria, Germany and France.

Archer, the course leader, is a Level 3 AFL Coach, he coached at senior state level teams like the University of Sydney, Eastlake FC and NT Thunder. He was also the AFL NSW/ACT Coaching Director and NSW RAMS Assistant coach.

The day course began at the AFL Europe HQ with Archer presenting the coach role, objectives and skills. He insisted that the coach’s philosophy and influence is pivotal to the running of the club and success of the team.

The course then continued in Shoreditch Park, where the attendees were shown techniques and drills to be used in their trainings.

After the assessment of the participants workbooks, the attendees will get a Level 1 Coaching Accreditation.

The course will help the current and future coaches in order to add value and contribute to the success of their club.

If a group of 10-15 people is interested in hosting a coaching course please contact us and we will do our best to run one for you so your group will get the Level 1 coaching accreditation. This is also valid for umpire courses.
